My Watermark is Lake Ontario. I grew up in a small town in Prince Edward County on the shorelines of Lake Ontario. Home to many sandy beaches, including Sandbanks Provincial Park, where I spent much of my childhood making memories on the water and continue to utilize frequently to this day. I spent a lot of my time visiting Sandbanks or the local beach just down the road from where I live to go swimming, paddle boarding, playing on the sandy dunes, and exploring the amazing beaches. Spending time around water with friends and family has been one of my favourite things to do growing up in this area, and it has played a significant role in showing me the importance of water in everyday life. Making that connection with water from such a young age taught me the importance of nature and conserving the earth's bodies of water and is one of the biggest reasons I pursued an education in the environmental field. Being around water has always allowed me to feel a sense of calm and happiness and will always be an important part of my life, who I am, and what I do.
