Lake Ontario, ON - Norma Walsh
My Watermark is Lake Ontario.
During the warm months my mom and dad took us the beach every Sunday afternoon. Most often it was station 26 at Hamilton Beach which was between the canal bridge and Burlington, on Lake Ontario.
One of the most interesting things for me, a non swimmer, was watching the lake freighters go through the canal and into Hamilton harbour. I was probably only three or four when these trips began. Now I sit in my Mountain Brow home watching the ships come into the harbour and dock. The ships are much faster, bigger and totally automated now. At age 81, I can not say the same for myself.
