I was not very connected to water until my relationship with Doug Chapman (the first Fraser Riverkeeper) who always had a boat of some kind and in particularly his boat Fedilia. I ended up living on his boat at Fishermen's Wharf in False Creek for a time. From there we took trips up the Sunshine Coast and up the Fraser River. I learned to respect, love and enjoy the bodies of water I had become familiar with. Thank you Doug.
