Kennebecasis River, NB - Calvin White

I always used to go ice fishing with my grandfather. We would head out every Saturday (once it was cold enough) to his small shack that stood out on the ice of the Kennebecasis River to fish for smelt, which he would then eat. I always enjoyed these times, though as years went on the ice started to disappear, the fish along with it.
A couple years ago my grandfather sold his shack. Though I miss those times with him, I more just hope that some day they'll be ice and smelt in the Kennebecasis River again, so that other families can enjoy this Maritime tradition.
