Bow River, AB - Warsan Amin
I was visiting my brother and his family in Alberta, and he made sure that my trip consisted of at least one day "out in nature". I'm not the most outdoors-y person in the world - I'm allergic to mosquito bites and hate being too hot or too cold, a crisis that is easily averted when you're indoors. Nevertheless, we got up in the morning and headed out to Banff and on the way, my brother stopped the car right where Bow River and the Three Sisters peak meet. He told me to go take pictures for my mom and I begrudgingly did so. But then, when I finally put my phone down and actually looked at the view I felt strange. Guilty almost. Why did I hate being outdoors so much? Why was I so conditioned to be removed from the Earth that I live on? I don't know why, but I took one last look and said "I'm sorry". Then I got back in the car and we drove away. It was a moment I will never forget.
