Humber River, ON - Paul Baines
My Watermark is the Humber River, Ontario.
The Humber River watershed is in the Lake Ontario watershed which is in the Great Lakes watershed.
The Humber River is important to me because I grew up by Humber and I spent a lot of time there. For me, living in the suburbs of Rexdale, the Humber was this wild place where you could just be who you wanted to be with your friends.
That’s my strong Humber River memory.
And again, the water in the Humber River is connected to my drinking source. I’m 70% Lake Ontario, which the Humber River feeds. So it’s very important to me and it’s part of the work I do these days too.
