Lake Ontario, ON - Phillip Egan
My favourite waterbody, I guess it would have to be Lake Ontario, the St. Lawrence River and the Rideau Canal. We live in Kingston here and probably the nicest set of waterbodies in all the world.
When I was a young lad, back in the early 60s myself and my friends used to come down along the shore line here and skin dive from Alwington Place all the way to Deadman Bay and back and explore the ship wrecks of which there’s numerous ones and just have a great day in the water, we’d always get pruned up before we got home.
Well we heard that they were going to dedicate the Pier to Gord Downie and my wife and decided to come down here and see what it’s all about and we were really impressed. The city in conjunction with a whole bunch of other people I guess got together and worked on this project and it’s a home run it’s just wonderful down here.
