My Watermark is Lake Opinicon, Ontario.
My most powerful memory of this waterbody was various times really. Our Queen's University Biological Station resides on a peninsula on the Northern shoreline of Lake Opinicon. Since 1994, I have welcomed and taught undergraduate students from across Canada and around the world. Perhaps my most cherished memories are of revealing the lakes, its inhabitants, including loons, heavens, snapping turtles and bullfrogs, and its history to Chinese young people.
Some of the students grew up in cities with between 20-30 million people - the clarity of the water, the diversity, the 'pristiness,' invariably impresses them and made incredible impressions that seem to endure...
