Lake Huron, ON - Nicholas Hotson
My Watermark is Lake Huron.
I've been going there ever since I remember to my grandpa's cottage every summer in Grand Bend to play/swim in the lake. My greatest memories are the ones I spent inner tubing behind my grandpa's boat, playing with my brother on the beach, and swimming in the lake. I would play frisbee on the beach with my family. I made up a game with my grandpa that one person would through a big frisbee and the other would through a small one and the goal was to get to a hundred points if you knocked the big one out of the air with the little frisbee you got 5 points, but if you got the little frisbee through the big one you got 10 points and you got to go again.
I also remember the year we were hosting some British soccer coaches for a camp we went way out to the sand bar and played water football. one of my favourite pass times was to take Brody (our dog) down to the water and through his stick, into the water and watch the sun set or rise. and every morning I would walk along the water in my flip-flops to determine whether it would be a nice temperature to play/swim in that day.
Just recently my grandpa took me up in his helicopter and I saw Lake Huron from above it was a beautiful sight and I thought that's why Grand Bend was and still is my favourite water body to go to.
