Lake Ontario, USA - Paul Austin
My parents always got enough money every year to rent a cabin for two weeks on the shore of Henderson Bay. From the time I was 6 until I was 12 or so, that trip is what I looked forward to all year. In the dead of winter I dreamed of the sunsets and the feeling that the waves were rocking me to sleep. When i reached high school we could no longer go, so I chose the college at Oswego because it was right on the lake. Every day, no matter the weather, I could stare at the horizon to relax, and I saw more sunsets in one semester than my whole childhood. I returned years later with my own family who came to enjoy the waves, the sun, the storms, the beach.
