When I had trouble finding a job in marine biology, I took on an internship in the Gulf of Thailand where I did regular scientific diving to monitor the health of the reef to assist with policy-making. Diving and swimming in the reef everyday, picking up garbage, talking to locals about conservation and their livelihood reinforced my love for marine conservation and management.
