This past summer, my family and I drove down to the Firehole Canyon Drive. Driving passed the beautiful scenery that stretched around us.

We stopped at one of the many pass-offs to take a look at the falls. Firehole Falls is a 40ft waterfall that is in the middle of 800ft thick former lava flow that forms the canyon walls. That's pretty cool if you ask me!

After that we decided to drive down to the Fire Hole Canyon Drive swimming area in Yellowstone Park for a little swim. We wanted to see what it was all about.

As we arrived, we saw families coming up and down steep spiky rocks. Getting closer we could see people enjoying themselves socializing, laughing and playing.

When we got into the swimming area, the water was cool and the surrounding air was hot. Taking a look around was the most breathtaking experience. You could see the never-ending rocks and trees surrounding us. It made me feel so small. The water tasted sweet because of the many natural minerals it contained and the current was flowing rapidly. Beneath my feet in the crystal clear, clean water, there were uniquely shaped rocks that were like stairs falling down into the deep deep water. My brother and I had so much fun exploring.

These are the memories I will never forget. That's why I think it is important to protect these precious water bodies. Wouldn’t you want your future generations to experience this too?
