Atlantic Ocean, Cameroon - Binta Chelsie Belko
As a science student for most my life, I have done personal research about oceans and freshwater bodies, I have watched almost every documentary about oceans and lakes that can possibly be found on the internet, and I have made observations that made me love water even more. However, my life was changed forever the day I was able to sit by the ocean for the first time. I was 10 and my family and I went to Cameroon for the December holidays. I sat on the beach, by the Atlantic, and said “Wow” every time I saw a wave break. Some people were swimming, some others were taking photos, and I was just mesmerized by the sheer beauty of the ocean. Since then, I promised myself to live somewhere with an access to an ocean one day. Oceans sparked something within me; and here I am, in Canada, Nova Scotia, Halifax, enjoying every single bit of the ocean that I can.
