Jack Lake, ON - Blake D.

My cottage is on Jack Lake. My family bought the cottage one month before I was born. Every summer weekend my family and I went up to the cottage. It’s the best place to relax and soak up some sunshine by the water.

In the past two years, I’ve grown close to water skiing. This year I’ve how to get up on one ski, by the Canadian water skiing Olympic champion Jason McClintock. After my friend and I went skiing my dad or my brother would always take us tubing. The waves are always enormous after the ski. Also factoring in that my cottage was on one of the bays, they were even bigger.

Sometimes (if we were lucky) we’d go cliff jumping on one of the rocky islands in the middle of Jack Lake. This lake is very important to me. It’s important because of all these reasons. I hope Jack Lake will be protected by the watermark project, and I hope all the generations to come can have fun and make memories just like my family, friends and neighbours did.
