Every summer I take time off to get away from the city and visit my parents in northern Ontario to do some fishing and camping. This summer I spent a week at the Nagagamisis Provincial Park. There is no hydro in the park, so it's a really great opportunity to fully connect with nature and the beautiful waterbodies that are around. The provincial park is named after the main waterbody that surrounds it, Nagagamisis Lake -- which has a rich history of Ojibway and Cree first nations.

Nagagamisis Lake is where I spent most of my time fishing for walleye and northern pike, swimming, canoeing, and catching rays on the sandbanks along the water. After all, Nagagamisis translates to "lake with fine sandy shores".
