Florida's Intercoastal Waterway - Kyle Smith
From the beauty of the waves to the memories it provides, the intercoastal waterway at Indian Rocks Beach in Florida is a special body of water for me. Growing up this was a vacation spot for my family and friends - with the Gulf of Mexico on one side of the road and the Intercoastal waterway on the other. Walking out on the dock ready to jump in, or cast a line to go fishing, this body of water provided me with a sense of safety and joy. I would sometimes just sit and admire the pure power and functionality of the water’s edge. Over time the water became more polluted and damaged. I want to ensure we can protect our waters to be enjoyed by us and our water friends.
Water can be powerful, it can be beautiful, but it can't protect itself.
