Atlantic Ocean, NS - Noa Brown
Took a day trip to Hirtle's Beach in Kingsburg for my girlfriend's birthday. We planned to go to the "secret" Pirate Beach, which is a short hike on the Gaff point trail away from the main beach. I had heard about it from my grandmother years before and always wanted to visit. The beach is down a cliff and the only way to get down is with a rope tied to a tree. The beach is beautiful and has amazing caves that I have never seen anywhere else. We had the beach to ourselves for most of the day, which really helps you form a connection with the place. I love the ocean but often find beaches too crowded to be able to fully take it all in. This secret beach was an amazing escape that made me appreciate our access to the ocean in Nova Scotia, something I often take for granted.
