When I was young at the lake, I remember the drive down to the cottage. With the windows down and music playing. It was always so exciting. I remember waiting all year to unpack and be at my home away from home for the summer.
When I was young at the lake, I was mesmerized by the way the trees swayed in the breeze in the morning air, even on those cloudy days. The sky always looked beautiful. We would paddle out to watch that very sun slowly set below the horizon and sit around the fireplace as it had fully gone down to watch the fireflies. When I was young at the lake, I was always ecstatic, knowing each year has been and always will be the same. I knew that, no matter what kind of year, all of us had had, we could definitely enjoy our summer at Longpoint. There were and will always be our summers at the lake.
At the lake, I always remember the times we had together, to appreciate each other and to live in the moment. I remember the memories we made over the years, moulding me into the person I am today. I'm forever grateful for the experiences and memories I know I will hold on to forever.
