When I was about 11, I was out on a fishing boat off of Vancouver Island. I clambered out of the boat and just as I got onto shore I heard a bear in the woods breaking loads of branches.

I thought for sure that I was going to get eaten!

I saw that the bear had found a honey nest, so I went back into the boat and floated a bit away, and watched the bear eat all the honey from the honeybees! I felt safe because I was out on the water. It was like the ocean was protecting me.
