My Watermark is Lake Ontario.

I built this boat Annie, with Brett and Cliff, on Wolfe Island in Kingston. We sailed it down the Mississippi from Northern Minnesota to the Gulf of Mexico. My favourite water memory is bringing her home and sailing her on my home turf in Burlington. I grew up in North Burlington and anytime I drove into the city of Burlington or to Toronto I would see the lake. It was a really nice perspective of this massive water system called the great lakes. So I’ve always felt connected to the water.

Even growing up close to the lake, you don’t always get out on the water if you don’t have a boat. I’ve been doing a lot of paddle boarding the last couple years and getting out on the water really makes you feel more connected to it. It gives you a great perspective of the city and where you live when you are out on the water looking back on it.
