Caribbean Sea, Honduras - Anna Lee

My family and I were on a vacation in Honduras and we were driving to this place called Parrot Tree Plantation. When we were driving up the laneway I looked out the window and I was shocked at how beautiful it was. It was a cobblestone laneway with thousands of flowers along the side, there were mountains making a wall around the island.
I said to myself, “If the entrance is this beautiful then what will the actual beach be like?”

When we passed the gates I couldn’t believe what I saw, it was like our own private beach. There were beds on the beach, hammocks swaying under thousands of palm trees, there was even a wall keeping all the waves and sharks out so you wouldn’t have to worry about any under toes!

My brothers and I ran down to the beach, we were in the water for a little while when I found a giant, grey, spongy looking rock with tons of these little snails that were so small they were almost microscopic.

Later, my mom and I decided to go for a walk down the beach. A little way away I saw something red in the water. I walked up to it and it didn’t move, I bent down to touch it and then I realized it was a huge, red, rough starfish! I was so excited because I had never seen one in real life before.

Just as I said to myself, “I could live here!” it was time to go. Going to Parrot Tree Plantation was one of my best water experiences.
