Lake Superior, ON - Liz Howard

My name is Liz Howard. I’m originally from Chapleau Ontario but I now reside in Toronto.

A waterbody that has had a significant influence on my life is Old Woman Bay in Lake Superior. I visited it many years in a row when I was in grade school we would go on school trips there. I recently revisited it last year and it was absolutely incredible because there was this massive bank of fog that was coming in off the lake and surrounded and was on top of the bay. I went there with my partner and the landscape of the shore was really interesting because there were all these trees, these battered remnants of trees that had traveled through the water that were cast upon the shore. It was all very dramatic. I ended up writing a poem about it that is in my book now.
