English Bay, BC - Rachel Jordan
A few years ago, during a Vancouver Open Water Swim Association year end party, another swimmer convinced me to go back into the water. She was studying marine biology, and wanted to show me a magical element of her field that was in season at the time - bioluminescence. We got in the water and started treading water, and the water glowed!
Every time we moved,we saw more glowing. It's amazing to me that much of what we normally see as muck in the water, a nuisance that prevents us from being able to see, is actually life.
