St. Ola Lake, ON - Zoe D
Once a year, my family and I go to our cottage in Saint Ola. We fish, swim, and hike. We stay for a whole week, eating food from the nearby butcher. When we leave, we put out the fireplace, clean everything up, and say goodbye.
Every time we go, we find something incredible. A few years ago, I found a Painted Turtle (a turtle species that is now endangered in Ontario, due to water pollution and erosion). Before that, we found turtle eggs in the sand.
I believe that people should be more aware of endangered species, whether the cause is something they contribute to or not. Water should be treated like an endangered species. Delicate and treasured.
