My name is Emily, and my Watermark is the Ottawa River. Growing up my grandparents lived along the Ottawa River, but I never really had any moments that stood out to me, that really made me have a connection with the water. But when I was around 11 or 12, which was around 2011 or 2012, I remember going whitewater rafting for the first time. I remember a lot from that day, and I remember like songs from it too, and the company, but what really stood out to me, of course, was the water. The rapids brought excitement, but what really made me fall in love was the serene image of the placid river between the rapids. I really believe that these moments with nature, and with water, are really important for us all.
