Missinaibi River, ON - Don Shropshire
My Watermark is the Missinaibi River, Ontario.
Several years ago, three friends and I paddled the Missinaibi River, an old fur trapper route that runs over 750 km through Northern Ontario. One memorable day, we rounded a bend in the river to witness a huge bull moose start swimming across the river. Blind in his left eye, he swam within a few feet of our canoe. That is not me in canoe, the real version had us back paddling to avoid a collision. I love our river systems that bring us closer to both nature and our history.
