My most memorable experience at this waterbody is a childhood experience! It centred around Farewell Creek, Courtice, Ontario. This particular creek ran behind our property and as a kid I would fish and play in the woods at the water's edge - often doing with others our Tom Sawyer/Cowboys and Indians/Alien worlds imaginative creations as kids can often do. It was also a place of social activity.

Because this waterway went under a bridge (for an old railway line in disuse and built in 1919) one of these bridges became a mecca for young swimmers. On any given summer day we would congregate at the water hole, it was the water hole sociable group that splashed about and many took pleasure in jumping off the bridge (not very high) this was then 'Courtice Water Hole' where many kids gathered for the 'action' that followed. This continued for many years until it faded and disappeared.
