My Watermark is the Salish Sea, British Columbia.

I grew up in rural Alberta, and the largest body of water I had ever seen was Sylvan Lake. When I was ten, my family drove to visit my family on Vancouver Island. I still remember the moment we arrived at the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal and the broad, great ocean appeared in front of us. The entire boat ride I couldn't leave the railing, and as we crossed the Salish Sea, I remember the light breaking through the clouds over the water. I knew then I needed to spend my life in this remarkably beautiful place
