My Watermark is Okanagan Lake, BC.

For as long as I can remember, our family has spent our summers on the shores of Lake Okanagan. While we never had a lake-front property, we spent as much time as possible on the beach. From sunrise to sunset we would pack a picnic, load on the sunscreen, and spend the day swimming. Our family didn’t do all-inclusive vacations or trips to the coast. This was our getaway. Summers on Lake Okanagan are my first and fondest memories of the beach.

As we’ve grown up, our routine hasn’t changed much. We get to Kelowna as often as possible. Only now, I am the one fighting to put sunscreen on my cousins screaming toddlers.

I don’t have children of my own, but when I do, I hope they can share the same summers I was lucky enough to have. Protecting Lake Okanagan is important for me so that it can be enjoyed for generations to come.
