Georgian Bay, ON - Ryan Vettese
My Watermark is Georgian Bay, Ontario.
When we finally got on the boat, it was the end of August. It took all summer to get the boat ready. We just started driving with my uncle, who taught me how to drive, because I had no idea what I was doing. We were all together and drove the boat through Lake Simcoe, and all the way along the waterway through the canals and went through every single lock in the waterway.
It took eight days. The lift lock in Peterborough lifts you up so high; it was exhilarating. Then towards the end, on the last day, the locks started closing early, so we had to get up really early one day, in order to make it to the next lock on time. It was just really beautiful.
