I first went to Nitinat Lake when I was a kid, my Dad's always been a big wind-surfer so I've been going there ever since I moved to the island, maybe 5 years old. Now that I'm grown up I still go there every year and its one of the most beautiful places in the world. Its out in the middle of nowhere, where there is not a lot of human impact its located on a First Nations reserver so I guess it's really important that the community that goes out there, the kite-surfers on Vancouver Island, were really aware of trying to protect the environment, however I hope that's something that will stick around for the next generation to discover the beauty of that place.

It's the village of Nitinat, the Ditidaht Nation, and they actually have fish farming down there, they have a village down there and people actually, the village is really good at keeping the camping site really well maintained.
