Cook's Bay, ON - Jennifer Button
My Watermark is Cook's Bay, Ontario.
We like to get on the water as often as we can, and we are limited with access to it in our area, and side of the lake in Georgina.
We are fortunate enough to have a boat so we access it that way. Other than that it is very limited, so if our children wanted to go out to the beach, or any of those area—we’ve noticed its limited.
If we didn’t have a boat, we wouldn’t have the opportunity to have access to the beaches. There are some broader beaches along Jackson’s point. However, they can be very populated and not comparable if you went to the other sides of the lake. So Georgina faces those challenges significantly. Private property is a challenge in Georgina. Most of the waterfront, if not all is private property. Unless you're on the marina, or own the waterfront, I don’t there’s any place to access it. There might be one publicly held dock that you can put in a request for to get a slip, but aside from that there is no public area that I am familiar with.
