The Shore Patrol Project is a Fraser Riverkeeper volunteer program that increase awareness about water quality issues in the Vancouver area and the human health risks associated with swimming in polluted recreational water. Volunteers between the ages of 15-24, help with weekly shoreline cleanups, storm drain marking and will be engaging with the public regarding Swim Guide and local water quality. This project encourages recreational use of our waterways, in turn, improving the appreciation for our waters and people’ s willingness to protect it. Volunteers will gain an understanding of local water quality issues, urban water quality protection, and discover their own personal connection to water - their Watermark.
